Early Years Foundation Stage
Pre2 - Nursery - Reception
From 1 to 5 years of age
“Children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure; when their individual needs are met and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them.”
- The philosophy underpinning Early Years education is to pace the learning experience so that it is consistent with the child´s development, enabling the individual to succeed at the early stages of social, emotional and experimental learning.
- We work with small groups to focus on individualised learning, in preparation for the next stage of the curriculum.
- Children are listening and learning in English from the moment they begin their learning experience in school.
- The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum is taught by English speaking teachers, supported by a classroom assistant. Elements of the Spanish curriculum are also taught in tandem. The children´s progress is continually observed and assessed using the Development Matters guidelines, produced by The British Association for Early Childhood Education.
