01 Our beliefs

We believe in encouraging the total immersion in English to develop levels of language akin to a native Speaker. We believe in an education built around key values, which support the development of the whole child as a reflective learner within a calm, caring, happy and purposeful atmosphere.

02 Taking care

We offer full day care and education for children from age 1 to age 5 in our specialist Early Years environment. There are also part time options available. We take pride in creating a personal and homely environment for children and their families. We believe every child deserves the best start in life and promote this belief to enable them to fulfil their potential.

03 Building blocks

We build secure foundations through learning and development opportunities and employ dedicated, inspirational, high quality staff to ensure consistency in our setting. Each teacher and support worker has a natural affinity for childcare and a great understanding of the needs of under-fives.

An academic atmosphere

Every Child is Unique

We ensure inclusion and support for every child to progress well, so we plan activities around the needs and interests of the individual whilst working in partnership with parents/carers.

Our outdoor setting provides an idyllic extension to the indoor learning environment and all children access experiential learning through child-centred play.

Children are actively encouraged to investigate through play and become active learners in a stimulating environment. We encourage creativity and help the children to develop the skills needed for critical thinking.

We also encourage exploratory play in the role play area, which reflects the themes covered in class and helps children to reinforce and extend vocabulary. By practising the things they have learned, the children ultimately make sense of their experiences and the world around them.

Our rooms are spacious, bright and homely, with direct access to our outside area and toilets. All of our classrooms have a quiet reading area and a themed role play area for the children to develop their imaginative skills, whilst re-enacting their own experiences.

How we teach

Our Early Years framework

We ensure that learning is relevant to each child and track individual progress carefully. Using the Early Years Framework, we plan activities to support the 4 areas of learning:

Physical, Personal and Social Development: We aim to foster and channel young children’s natural energy, while also helping them understand the importance of physical activity and healthy food choices. Children are also encouraged to develop their social skills, along with respect for other people and an understanding of their own feelings and responses.

Communication, location and literacy: We provide an environment for young children to express themselves and speak and listen in a range of situations. Allowing them to develop their language and communication skills in English. It is essential for children to develop phonemic awareness – the ability to hear and Identify different words and sounds, and also to start reading and writing. We teach these skills through the Jolly Phonics programme.

Mathematics, Expressive Art and Design: Children are guided to develop practical skills involving numbers and calculation, as well as being able to describe shapes, spaces and measures. Self-expression and self-discovery are encouraged using drawing, painting, messy play, role play, singing and percussion instruments.

Understanding the world: This area enables children to make sense of the world around them through observing and exploring every day objects, familiar places and modern technology.

We create a nurturing
environment for your child

Every child is a competent learner, who can be resilient, capable, confident and self- assured. We recognise that children develop in individual ways and at varying rates.

Children’s attitudes and dispositions to learning are influenced by feedback from others. We use praise and encouragement, as well as celebrations and rewards, to foster a positive attitude to learning.

Positive relationships

We recognise that children learn to be strong and independent from secure relationships. We aim to develop caring, respectful and professional relationships with the children and their families. We interact positively with our children and take time to listen to them.

Enabling environments

We recognise that the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending the children’s development. Through observation, we assess the children’s interests, stages of development and learning needs, before planning challenging and achievable activities and experiences to extend the children’s learning.

Learning and development

We recognise that children learn and develop in different ways and have their own learning styles. We value all areas of learning and development equally and understand that they are often linked.
