A letter from the Director

I am delighted to welcome you to The English School of Asturias – a unique 2-18 independent school situated in an idyllic rural setting between Oviedo and Gijón. Our school fully follows the British curriculum, whilst maintaining the essential aspects of the Spanish curriculum (language, literature and social sciences) to ensure a bilingual and bicultural education.

Our students communicate and learn in English, which is a core principle of our school’s ethos. A dedicated and talented team of staff collaborate with supportive and proud parents. We work together as a team to ensure that our children are the focus of all that we strive to achieve.

The English School of Asturias is constantly developing a dynamic yet balanced curriculum to inspire and motivate our pupils with opportunities to promote independence, develop a growth mindset and think independently.

We have high expectations of every pupil. Academic achievement is important and our students receive consolidation and extension support to ensure that there are solid foundations in every stage of the learning process.

Within a caring and nurturing environment we equip our pupils with the skills to be good citizens, tolerant and respectful of others and confident to face the ever changing demands of society and the world at large.

This website is designed to reflect the essence of our school as well as to provide you with useful information. Please feel free to visit or get in touch with us to find out more about us.
